Open Access Policy and Licensing
Open Access Policy
Immediate open access. SEAJSM provides immediate open access to all published content. Articles are available online to readers worldwide without subscription barriers or access charges. This policy is based on the principle that making research freely available supports a broader global exchange of knowledge.
Reader rights. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts of articles, and may use them for any other lawful purpose, provided that proper attribution is given to the original work and authors, and any additional conditions stated under the article’s license are respected.
Licensing
Unless otherwise stated on the article webpage, SEAJSM publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. This license permits sharing and adaptation for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is provided, and any changes are indicated. If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

Copyright and publishing rights
Authors retain copyright in their work and maintain full, unrestricted publishing rights. By publishing in SEAJSM, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and agree that the work will be made openly available under the license stated above. This approach ensures that authors receive appropriate acknowledgment while enabling wide dissemination and reuse consistent with open access principles.
Author self-archiving and repository deposit
SEAJSM allows and encourages authors to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, and personal or organizational websites. Authors may also share the accepted manuscript where relevant. Any deposited version should clearly cite the final published article in SEAJSM and include the license information to ensure transparent reuse conditions.
Commitment to the Budapest Open Access Initiative
SEAJSM aligns its open access policy with the widely recognized definition of open access articulated by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). In line with this commitment, SEAJSM supports unrestricted online access to peer-reviewed research literature and encourages lawful reuse that strengthens research, education, and knowledge dissemination.

SEAJSM has formally endorsed the BOAI as an organization, and applies these principles through immediate open access, clear licensing, and author retention of copyright.
Policy updates
This Open Access Policy may be updated to reflect evolving best practices, indexing requirements, and governance decisions. Any changes will be posted on this page and apply prospectively unless explicitly stated otherwise.
