Data Availability and Reproducibility Policy
Data Availability Statement
SEAJSM requires authors of all published articles to include a Data Availability Statement in the Declarations section of their manuscript. The statement should describe where the data supporting the reported findings can be found, how they may be accessed (including repository links or DOIs where applicable), and any conditions or restrictions on access.
Sharing of Data, Code, and Instruments
Authors are strongly encouraged to make the data, analysis code, and research instruments underlying their articles available to other researchers, whenever ethically and legally permissible, by depositing them in recognized open repositories (for example, institutional repositories, figshare, Zenodo, OSF, Mendeley Data, or Dryad).
- Data sets involving human participants may only be shared in anonymized or aggregated form, consistent with ethical approval and participant consent.
- Confidential or proprietary data that cannot be shared should be described in the Data Availability Statement, including the reasons for the restriction.
- Authors should cite the deposited data using a permanent identifier (e.g., DOI) so that the data can be located and verified.
Reproducibility
To support reproducibility, SEAJSM expects the methods section of each article to provide sufficient detail on research design, sampling, measurement instruments, and analytical procedures for other researchers to replicate the study. Authors should be prepared to respond to reasonable requests for clarification regarding their analyses.
