Plagiarism and Academic Integrity Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Southeast Asian Journal of Service Management (SEAJSM) will be screened for plagiarism and self-plagiarism using Turnitin and supplementary Google-based search tools. Based on the level of originality and similarity with existing publications, the Managing Editor may decide to reject the manuscript, request clarification or revision from the authors, or proceed with the double-anonymous peer review process.

SEAJSM will immediately reject manuscripts that are found to contain significant plagiarism or self-plagiarism. The journal is committed to upholding international standards of academic integrity and expects all authors to comply fully with ethical research and publication practices.

Plagiarism occurs when an author uses ideas, information, or words from another source without proper acknowledgment. Whether intentional or unintentional, plagiarism constitutes a serious academic violation and is unacceptable in scholarly publishing.

Authors are required to provide appropriate citations when (1) Referring to specific information such as names, dates, locations, statistics, or other detailed data obtained from identifiable sources, except in cases of widely recognized general knowledge, (2) Using or adapting ideas, interpretations, methodologies, or theoretical perspectives developed by other scholars, even when these ideas are further developed by the author, (3) Reproducing exact wording from another source.

SEAJSM takes academic integrity seriously. The editors reserve the right to reject submissions, revoke acceptance, or retract published articles if violations of plagiarism or ethical standards are identified at any stage of the publication process.
